Costa Rica Humanitarian Trip is Requesting Donations

In March 2001 our school sent its first group to Costa Rica to provide human services and financial support to a number of humanitarian projects in Costa Rica, most dealing with children.  Since 2001, twelve groups of McMath students have participated in this life-changing trip.

The specific purpose of this year’s project is to provide support to the children in the city of Atenas. Each McMath student is required to pay $35US per day that we are at the project.  This money goes towards the purchase of supplies and the hiring of experienced tradespeople (students provide the unskilled labour). In addition to the financial donation, we also hope to bring much needed dental and personal hygiene supplies (listed below).

We are now turning to our local community for help to raise money and collect supplies for donations for our March 2016 project.

We are in need of the following:

  • Toiletries (diaper cream, soap, shampoo, cotton balls, lotions, etc.)
  • Dental supplies (toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, etc.)
  • Financial contributions (cheques made out to McMath): a tax receipt will be issued for donations of $100 or more.

Your generous donations would be greatly appreciated. We thank you, in advance, on behalf of the families that we will be assisting in Costa Rica.
