As school started this year with new safety procedures and a new quarter system, we have all adapted to necessary change. Staff have worked hard to adjust to longer classes and provide engaging lessons for you. Students have done a phenomenal job to keep up with the fast pace of the quarter system and focus on your studies, particularly our senior students who have considerable at-home-work to balance the loss of direct instructional time. Thank you all.
With Dr. Henry’s announcement on Saturday, we are reminded about how we need to continue safely together. Please make sure you attend to the Daily Health Declaration each morning. Don’t come to school if you are sick. Wear your mask – we strongly encourage this even in cohorted classrooms. Sanitize your hands or wash them frequently. And maintain distance. Grade 8 and 9 students, you must remain in your cohort lunch area unless you are outside. Outside, you can visit with other friends, remember to keep your distance.
Our school community cares about each other. We can show that by making sure we are following all of the safety protocols. Thank you.
Every year on November 11th, Canadians pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. More than 1,500,000 Canadians have served our country in this way, and more than 100,000 have died. They gave their lives and their futures so that we may live in peace.
On Tuesday, November 10th we will be showing McMath’s 2020 Remembrance Day Virtual Ceremony. Prior to viewing the ceremony, poppies will be distributed during the beginning of Block A1 (Grades 10 - 12) and Block B2 (Grades 8 - 12). Students are invited to offer a small donation for the poppy (proceeds go to the Canadian Veterans’ Society).
A reminder that tomorrow is the deadline to register for the AP challenge exam this year. Application forms are available in the office. Please see Mr. Ngo if you have any questions.
