As part of the graduation requirement, Grade 11 students are required to write the Graduation Numeracy Assessment (GNA). The Numeracy Assessment is a provincial assessment that assesses student proficiency in numeracy. The focus of the assessment is on the application of mathematical concepts learned across multiple subjects from kindergarten to Grade 10. It requires students to solve problems by using five numeracy processes (different ways of thinking and working): interpret, apply, solve, analyze and communicate.
At McMath, the GNA is scheduled for January 25 & 26. All current Grade 11 students are registered to write the GNA on these two days. An email has been sent to the Grade 11 students directly regarding their writing time and location. Please download the file below for a copy of the writing time and location.
To ensure that students are ready for the assessment, we will be offering two optional online prep sessions on Jan 20 and 21 at 10 – 11 am. More information about this will be sent out directly to students next week.
