Dear McMath Parents/Guardians and Students:
Please remember to stay home if you feel sick. All staff and students must complete the Mandatory Daily Health Declaration before coming to shool (attached). If you have any symptoms listed, you must stay home until you are symptom free for 24 hours. If you have two symptoms or fever, call 811 for a health assesment from Vancouver Coastal Health. If in doubt, please stay home.
The Ministry of Education and the Provincial Health Authority have released some important updates designed to enhance the existing protocols in place to help keep our schools safe.
New Daily Health Check Website/Mobile APP:
The Ministry of Health has created a daily health check website and mobile apps for students and parents to complete before heading to school each morning. The website and app will contain the most up-to-date BC health guideline information.
The design of the app was developed in collaboration with BC students to create an age-appropriate user-experience. It will allow for students and their parents to make the best decisions on whether to attend school, not to attend school, or take other measures based on the information they provide.
The health check application is available online as a mobile enabled website, an iPhone app and a Google Android app.
Important Continued Use of Preventative Measures:
Students are reminded to continue to practice all preventative measures designed to keep everyone safe.
We are very pleased with the level of mask wearing that occurs in our school, and we encourage this to continue, as well as;
- avoid crowding, especially at the bookends of the day and during breaks.
- practice physical distancing (2m separation) when possible
- avoid close face to face contact whenever possbile
- practice regular handwashing and respiratory etiquette
Thank you for discussing these safety enhancements with your child(ren), and for helping to emphasize the important role each of us plays in keeping our school safe for everyone.
