Over the next month or so, 60+ McMath classes may be participating in a 10 day Social Emotional Learning and Wellness Challenge. What does this mean? This means that for ten days over the next month, students are going to try different activities to help improve their mental well-being.
As a school, we’re exploring “How are classes addressing the social emotional needs of students in 2020/21? What activities are occurring at McMath to allow students an outlet to connect with each other safely, build coping strategies, access resiliency? How can we share these innovations with each other? How can we continue this important SEL in ‘normal’ times? How are these activities helping teachers, themselves, with processing this unusual year?
Students have been asked to share a wellness activity that they have done for themselves. They will be writing this activity on a post-it note and then it will be placed on our Wellness Tree that is located on the library windows over the next week. We are excited to watch our tree blossom over the next week with inspirations of wellness.
Our McMath community can keep updated by following the @McMathCares on Instagram or @CaresMath Twitter account. Students will get additional updates on daily p.a. announcements.
