Major Awards

Today was our first day of Awards Week! Grade 12 Subject Awards and our McMath Major Awards were handed out today, we have included a brief discription of the major award and what it represents. We will have a full list of Subject Award and Major Awards recipients at the end of the week, stay tuned. 

 

MCMATH MAJOR AWARDS 2021

 

The Major Awards recognize the achievement of students across all areas such as academic, school and community, volunteerism, and social responsibility.

 

THE GILLIAN COOPER LEADERSHIP AWARD

 

Named after our 2003 Valedictorian, Gillian Cooper, this award goes to the top student leader in the community and school who leads by example, demonstrates service both in the school and community, and has the ability to have a positive effect on the world around us.

 

This year’s recipients of the award are:  Stephanie C. and Raeyan M.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AWARD

 

The Environmental Impact Award goes to the student whose contributions have been significant and who has also shown leadership with environmental issues.

 

This year’s Environmental Impact Award winner is: Julian H.

 

SPIRIT OF THE FRASER AWARD

 

This award is presented to the student who has demonstrated outstanding growth as a student and person, through courageousness, determination, and commitment.

 

We are delighted to present the Spirit of the Fraser Award to: Merrick D.

 

MCMATH AWARDS OF DISTINCTION

 

The McMath Award of Distinction is presented to a student or students who have dedicated hours and leadership in a particular area or event that has benefited the school or community.

 

This year’s Award of Distinction winners are: Hania E. and Lynna S.

 

MCMATH PRIDE

 

The McMath Pride Award is presented to a student who has dedicated countless hours and demonstrated outstanding leadership in the organization of events and activities (which may or may not be reflected in recorded service hours) that benefited and enriched the lives of all students at McMath
