Today is Pink Shirt Day. Celebrated annually, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students from Nova Scotia, David Shepherd and Travis Price, took a stand against homophobic bullying after a new Grade 10 student was harassed and threatened for wearing pink. Each year, on Pink Shirt Day, we wear something pink to symbolize that we, as a society, will not tolerate bullying anywhere. McMath will join the rest of B.C. and celebrate our PRIDE community where everyone belongs.
The deadline for ordering your Yearbook is February 28th, and we won't be able to extend it past that date. Check the list on the Office window showing students by grade who have already paid for their Yearbook. If you think you have paid for a Yearbook, but your name is not on the list, see the Business Assistant at the window by the front door.
February is National Black History month, an important time where we celebrate the contributions and achievements of black people. Reminder to all Multicultural Club members that there is a meeting today at lunch in Mme. Laub's Room C117 to learn about influential black people in history! We will have a Kahoot and prizes!
Wildcats! Come down with your friends and pink shirts to the Photo Room C118 at lunch to take pictures and to take a stand against bullying.
