Dear Wildcat Students and Parents,
We wanted to say THANK YOU to our students for your commitment to learning and your adaptability. You overcame challenges and successfully completed a most unique year. Thank you for your strong efforts and kindness! Special thanks to our amazing Grads – your positivity and leadership were terrific. We wish you well and hope you’ll come back to visit.
Parents, we are very thankful for your support with safety procedures and your patience as we made adjustments throughout the year to improve the learning situations for our students. From the quarter system to cohorts to half-day attendance for our senior students, there have been many adjustments.
Our staff have done an incredible job with all of the changes, always looking out for the needs of our students and providing the best learning opportunities possible. There have been benefits this year, like outdoor learning, that we will carry into many classes next year.
With optimism and enthusiasm, we are looking forward to September 2021 with all of our students in full-time attendance, without cohorts, and with the return of the ever-important extra-curricular activities like clubs and athletics. Students will receive their timetables on the first day of school, September 7th because we continue to fine tune even into the first week of September.
All of the secondary schools in Richmond will be on the semester system next year (4 classes from September to January, 4 different classes from February to June). Our school will also incorporate Personal Learning Time (PLT) for students – this is an exciting development explained more fully in the attachments. We’ll hold an online parent meeting about this in early September.
But for now, let’s take the time to rest and relax. Stay safe and cool this summer! All the very best to you all.
The McMath office will be open during the summer, with reduced hours, please call ahead 604-718-40450 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
