Today, May 17th is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, & Transphobia. The date of May 17th was specifically chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision in 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder. May 17th is now celebrated in more than 130 countries. Today, and everyday we condemn discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation. We support and celebrate everyone’s right to freedom of expression, security, self-determination and equal treatment.
