Today is our last Fruit & Veggie Delivery – organic apples!  Teachers, please send a runner to the staff room now to collect the apples.

 Did you know that same-sex marriage was only legalized in 2005? This means that some grads are older than same-sex marriage in Canada! Today, May 17is the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.  Richmond School District recognizes that members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community face unique challenges and discrimination, and we are committed to taking active steps to address those issues. We stand with our LGBTQ+ community, and we are dedicated to creating an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity and promotes equality.   

Thank you to those of you who wore rainbow colours in support of this day, today.  Look out for Social Justice 12 students who will be giving out rainbow treats today at break.  For more information, please go to may17.org

Good news grade 11 and 10’s! Are you all listening?! The Costa Rica Humanitarian Trip is a go! That’s right! If you are in grade 11 and interested in a rewarding humanitarian experience in beautiful Costa Rica in 2024, you can apply to be a part of the group! Grade 10’s, while most students who go are in Grade 12, there is a possibility you could be chosen for your Grade 11 year.

There will be a MANDATORY information session on Thursday, May 25th during PLT in room B130. This is a mandatory information session that will take place promptly at 8:40. Please be on time! If you cannot attend, you will need to speak with Ms. Schiefer or Mr. Johnstone in person to express interest and discuss the trip prior to the information session. Important details will be discussed, and applications will be distributed.

Attention Strathcona trip members, we have less than 2 weeks until we leave!  We have our packing meeting tomorrow Thursday, May 18th, at lunch in Ms Phillpotts's room.  Come prepared with your questions and find out who's in your cabin!

Wildcats!  There will be an entire showcase and celebration of Fine Arts at McMath tomorrow, Thursday, May 18th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. You will see many students’ achievements across many different disciplines, including “Fashion Show”, “Contemporary & Jazz band performance”, “Display of Student work”, “Drama performance”, Bake & Craft Sale” and more!  Please join in the celebration and support the showcase night.

Are you interested in being a First Responder at McMath?  Applications for the First Responders Executive Team are out now!  Check out our Instagram bio @mcmathfirstresponders for our application form.  Completed application forms are due by this Friday, May 19th, 2023.

This is a reminder that all required student fees must be paid by the end of the school year.  Students who have purchased a yearbook must have all fees paid to receive it.  A list of students with outstanding fees has been posted on the office window.
