Today we acknowledge Indigenous Veterans Day, honouring the centuries-long legacy of First Nation, Metis, Inuit and indigenous soldiers in the Canadian Armed Forces. From their role in the War of 1812 to the remarkable contributions during the World Wars and Korea, Indigenous people have shaped Canada's military history. Yet, their service has often been overshadowed by systemic discrimination, such as exclusion from Veterans’ Associations rites until the 1950s. Today we reflect on the path of reconciliation, recognizing the sacrifices of Indigenous heroes past and present.

On Friday, November 10th, the McMath community will be observing Remembrance Day with in-school ceremonies. In honour of the importance of this day, where possible, we encourage students and staff to participate in “formal attire day”. If you are able, we encourage you to dress more formally in recognition of this sombre observance. Thank you for your consideration.”

Attention all Students!  Block Rotation! Block Rotation!  Starting Tuesday, November 14th our blocks will rotate.  The block rotation will be B-A-D-C.  Tuesday we will have PLT and then B-A-D-C.  Please make sure you know where to go Tuesday morning!

Student Council’s annual food drive is starting next week starting Tuesday, November 14th to November 24th!  During your Block A classes, or your second class for Block Rotation, bring any non-perishable food or monetary donations to support your local food bank.  Each food item brought to your class gives you points.  
Bring specific food items on Tuesday and Thursdays to earn extra points!  
The Block A class with the most points receive a class pizza party! Our first bonus day is next Tuesday, Tuna Tuesday, bring any canned meat to earn bonus points! 

Junior and Senior Boys Basketball practice cancelled tonight.  Next practice Thursday November 9th at 7:30 pm.

The Senior Boys Volleyball team are back in the Richmond City finals for the third year after defeating the Burnett Breakers 3-1 last night. The boys will be looking to defend their title against the McRoberts Strikers. Game is tonight at 7:30 pm at McRoberts. Thank you to #wildcatnation for your support this season!

Attention Studio Ghibli club members!  Please come to a special meeting this Thursday, C212, in PLT.  We will be finishing the film Spirited Away, doing soot gremlin crafts, taking a group photo, and getting forms for a Studio Ghibli field trip in December. See Ms Phillpotts for paperwork if you can't make the meeting.
