Dear McMath Grads of 2024:

This year's Valedictory Ceremony will be taking place at UBC's Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. This is a wonderful and special event for grads, as well as for their family and friends. 

As each graduate walks across the stage at the Valedictory Ceremony, a statement is read about them. This statement or honour to the grad is a 45 maximum word statement which is positive in tone and highlights some aspect of each graduate. Grads may choose to focus on future goals, accomplishments, words of advice, and/or expressions of gratitude to others. 

Grads and their families are encouraged to submit a brief (max 45 word ) statement that they would like read aloud as they cross the stage. Grads are asked to do this using an online form/survey. The deadline to submit a Valedictory comment is May 1st at 4pm. Submitted comments will be reviewed for appropriateness. Generic comments will be inserted for those students who do not make a submission. It is our wish that all grads will take this opportunity to submit something positive that will be a wonderful legacy for them.
