Each year we have families requiring financial assistance with school-related costs. We have an Affordability list to help families as needed.  Please note, this list does not carryover from the 2025-2026 school year.  If you were on last year’s list and still require support you will need to submit a new request for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Financial assistance can cover school-related costs in the following areas:

• School and course fees
• School supplies and course materials
• Class-related field trips 
• Clothing and footwear required for sports and school activities

BC Healthy Kids Program

From time to time, families may require support for additional expenses such as dental, optical, and hearing costs. Below is a link for information from the province related to the BC Healthy Kids Program. It is through this program that a family can access support.

Sports and Recreation

For support regarding participation in children and youth community sports, please refer to Kidsport Richmond. This organization can provide financial grants to help cover the cost of registration fees. The Richmond Sports Council also has an Active Recreation & Sport Fund to help Richmond residents under the age of 18 participate in organized recreational and sports activities when financial barriers exist. 

City of Richmond - Recreation Fee Subsidy Program

This program helps people of all ages living in Richmond who are experiencing financial hardship. RFSP participants receive financial support for many registered and drop-in parks, recreation and cultural programs offered by the City of Richmond and Community Associations and Societies. The Third Party Referral Guidelines, which may be completed by a school administrator or school counsellor, is also linked below.
