New Grade 8's

As parents and students are beginning to prepare for the transition into grade 8, we welcome you to our school website.  You will find all the information about McMath that you need.  You will find more detailed information on life at McMath here: https://mcmath.sd38.bc.ca/students/program-planning.  Please contact us via phone or e-mail if you have any questions.  Follows are some dates important for incoming Grade 8's for the 2026/27 school year:

 

Jan. 21 - Jan. 27, 2026 Counsellors make initial visits to Grade 7 catchment schools (English & French Immersion)
Feb. 12, 2026 (5:30pm) Grade 7 Parent Information Night
Feb. 17, 2026Grade 8 “Program Planning” sheets due to Gr. 7 teacher for catchment schools and for students out of catchment forms are due to the McMath office.
TBDGrade 8 Non-Catchment Program Planning for Gr. 7 students with approved transfers.  You will be contacted by a McMath school counsellor.

 Math 8/9 Placement Test for incoming grade 8's at McMath at 3:30pm.  Students please enter the school through the front door.

TBDNew Grade 8 Welcome (optional) - come on in and check out the school, meet your counsellors, student leaders, and see where your classes are before everyone is back in the building!

 

If you live outside the McMath catchment, you are still welcome to apply to our school as a "Transfer Student".   Please do so using the appropriate forms available from all schools.  The application deadline is posted on the district website here: https://www.sd38.bc.ca/student-registration/transfer-applications

Successful applicants will be called by a McMath counsellor to complete program planning documents and discuss other transition details.
