Literacy Scanning - PBA & Surveys
| An action that we have taken to support our school’s learning focus is: | We conducted our first Grade 8 Proficiency-Based Assessment (PBA) in English in October. We also conducted a Grade 8 Student Survey and a Teacher Survey.

| This action supports our school’s learning focus in the following ways: | The data collected from the Grade 8 PBA will be used as a baseline for literacy. The areas for growth that are revealed in the results will become the focus for improvement. These results will be compared with our spring PBA to determine to what extent we have improved our literacy growth. The surveys we conducted with students and staff will be used for department and school-wide discussions on how to improve executive functioning skills as well as social-emotional skills which will, in turn, support our literacy goals. |
