Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating this beautiful Festival of Lights. May the five days of celebration brighten our world, and bring joy, prosperity, and happiness.

Attention Grade 10s & 12s! The Graduation Literacy Assessment is coming up next week. This is a mandatory provincial assessment that assesses student proficiency in literacy. It is a graduation requirement; all Grade 10 & 12 students must take it. The GLA 10 is scheduled for Oct. 31^st and Nov. 1^st, and the GLA 12 is scheduled for Nov 2^nd & 3^rd. Please check our website and the office windows to see your writing time and location. To help students prepare for the exam, we will be offering two optional review sessions this week in the library. You can choose to attend any of them. Grade 10 optional review sessions are scheduled for tomorrow during PLT and afterschool. Grade 12 optional review sessions are scheduled for Wednesday after school and Thursday during PLT. 

Wildcats! Interested in checking out what post-secondary institutions are in BC? Representatives from post-secondary institutions in BC will be visiting. Come to a mini fair in the Small Gym at lunchtime to meet with representatives, ask questions, pick up a calendar and some swag. All Grade 12 students will attend in Block D.

Senior Boys Basketball Open Gyms this week will be tomorrow and Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

Girls Basketball Players! Open Gym times will continue this week on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm in the South Gym.Tryouts for teams are not too far away so come on out and keep working on those skills!

Do you like theatre and performing in front of loud enthusiastic audiences? Like making up scenes on the spot? Then Senior Improv could be for you! Improv gives you the chance to work in a supportive community and perform at the Canadian Improv Games! Auditions will take place tomorrow at 3:15 pm in the theatre room.

Halloween is right around the corner and we’re looking for fun and creative costumes for our annual costume contest! The costume contest will take place at lunch on Monday, October 31^ston the main stage in the Rotunda. The sign-up sheet is linked to our Instagram bio @mcmathstuco; sign up today until the 28^th! There will be prizes for the best costumes!

Its StuCo’s traditional Halloweek lunch events! Today is pumpkin pass, Tuesday is Halloween Charades, Wednesday is Jello Eating Contest, Thursday will be the Grade 8 Dance so there will be no lunch event. Friday is Red Light Green Light. Come to the Rotunda at lunch and join the fun!
