Grades 10 to 12 students! The Richmond Career Programs Office, in partnership with the Richmond RCMP, is inviting students to participate in Richmond School District's second annual RCMP Youth Academy. This is a 5-day camp from Feb 16^th - 20^th, 2023.  Deadline to apply is Monday, December 5^th. Applications are due to your school counsellor. 

Congrats to the Senior Boys Basketball Soccer team at the Provincial Triple A Soccer Championship tournament! The boys played hard against the rain & wind and were able to place 9^th. The Wildcats Boys Soccer team finished the season in the top 10 of the Province of BC! Thanks to the coaches, Mr. Gomes and Mr. Badyal.

 Another wildcat team participated in the provincial championship as well this weekend. The Junior Girls Volleyball placed 13^th in the Province. A big congratulations to the team and for representing McMath!  

Congratulations to the McMath Swim Team who wrapped up their season on Friday at the District Meet! The team won with an incredible 503 points, more than double that of Steveston-London’s 2^nd place finish. Swimmers in the recreation category shone at this event, including Ka Yi C., Ivy H., and Kiehlie M.; as well as Bruce Y. and Johnny H.. Way to go swimmers!  Come pick up your ribbons in the PE office.

Grade 9 Boys basketball practice this week, tomorrow and Thursday from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

Attention Ski Club Members! There is a mandatory meeting this Thursday, December 1^st at lunch in the large gym. We will be discussing ski day procedures, confirm your rentals, and bus assignments. Do not miss this meeting!

This past Saturday, McMath’s Ethics Bowl team competed at the Ethics Bowl, hosted by SFU. They did McMath proud, placing an amazing 4^th in the Province! They also earned a spot at the BC Provincial Ethics Bowl in February, with a chance to go on to the Nationals! Congratulations Ethics Bowl team!

Support the Richmond Hospital with the Warm Clothes Gift Drive! Donate clothing in good condition that you already have, such as gloves, scarves, coats, and sweaters. Collections begin today and collection boxes are in every classroom. There will be prizes for the Block A class that donates the most. McMath Ocean Love will be having an Elf movie night on December 12^th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Ticket sales will be happening today at lunch in front of the Rotunda. Tickets are $5 each and will include a slice of pizza, hot chocolate, and popcorn!

A reminder that there is a RHFH meeting today at lunch in Ms. Xiao’s Room B127. New holiday initiatives will be introduced so be sure to attend!

Interact’s legacy project, the Mariposa Pancake Breakfast, will be holding a breakfast on November 30^th from 8:00 am to 9:30 am across from the main office. We will be selling pancakes, waffles, and hot chocolate! Pre-order today or tomorrow at lunch in front of the library for a yummy breakfast on the 30^th! All proceeds will be donated to the Mariposa DR Foundation who aims to promote women empowerment and eradicate generational poverty in developing countries. Follow our Instagram @mariposapancake!

Thank you to everyone for participating in our annual Food Drive. Over 1,000 non-perishable goods were collected and almost $2,000 was raised! In third place is Ms. Phillpotts’ class with 1,724 points. In second place, we have Mr. Sidhu's class with 2,049 points and in first place, we have Mr. Sharma’s class with 5,986 points! A big thank you to everyone for their donations this year! 

Student Council will be selling Candy Grams from December 1^st to 13^th at lunch in the Rotunda. Candy Grams will $1.00 for one or 3 for $2.00 and includes a Lindt chocolate ball and a custom message for your friends.
