This is the last day we will be sharing a story from McMath’s Social Justice class about a Black Canadian’s accomplishments and contributions to Canadian history. To learn more, visit the McMath Library or follow links on McMath’s social media. Lori Seale-Irving was the first black female commissioned officer in the RCMP. She was born and raised in Ottawa and always wished for a career that would help people in her community. Lori joined the RCMP in 1990 and completed many postings in her career including a focus on war crimes, marine security, the protection of the Prime Minister, and diversifying and modernizing the RCMP.

There is a list posted on the Office window of students who have not yet paid for their Yearbook. Please check the list, and if you think that you have paid for a yearbook, speak to the Business Assistant at her window.

Congratulations to this week’s Reading Riot prize draw winners, Regine M. and Myra Y.! Please claim your prizes in the Library.

Have you lost your water bottle, shoes, or lunch? Make sure to check the lost and found outside of the office by the microwaves. Unclaimed lunch containers with food inside will be thrown out at the end of each week.

Grads! This is a reminder that your Winter Formal is coming up on January 26th. Please note that you must have completed your first two Capstone assignments before being eligible to attend. Anyone with an outstanding assignment by Monday, January 23rd, will not be allowed to attend, and your ticket will be refunded to you.

This is a reminder to all RHFH members that there will be a meeting today at lunch in Ms. Xiao’s Room B127. There will be lots of volunteer opportunities for our Valentine’s Day initiative so be sure to be there!
