In recognition of the upcoming Black History Month in February, we want to share the achievements of Jully Black, known as Canada’s queen of R&B. Jully Black is a Canadian singer, songwriter, actress, and TV personality. With inspiration from her sister, and recognizing the lack of women in Canadian media, Black decided to pursue a career in music at the age of 12. She is a Juno Award-winner and was named one of the “25 Greatest Canadian Singers Ever” by CBC Music. Black has also been involved in a wide range of charitable work including performing at benefit concerts, delivering speeches, and being a vocal advocate for black and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
