Grad Numeracy Assessment (GNA) April 24th & 25th

Dear Parent/Guardian of Grade 10 students

As part of the graduation requirement, all Grade 10 students are required to write the Graduation Numeracy Assessment (GNA). The Numeracy Assessment is a provincial assessment that assesses student proficiency in numeracy. The focus of the assessment is on the application of mathematical concepts learned across multiple subjects from kindergarten to Grade 10. It requires students to solve problems by using five numeracy processes (different ways of thinking and working): interpret, apply, solve, analyze and communicate.

At McMath, the GRADUATION NUMERACY ASSESSMENT (GNA) is scheduled for April 24 and 25. All current Grade 10 students are registered to write the GNA on these two days, and they will be receiving a separate email regarding their writing time and location. We will also post this information on our website and outside the office.  To ensure that our students are ready for the assessment, we will be offering two optional GNA prep sessions during PLT on April 18 and 20 in the school library.

Thanks, and let us know if you have any questions.
