Student Notices February 21, 2024

If you did not receive a Course Planning sheet on Conference Day, please attend to the office to pick up.  Full instructions for Program Planning are on the McMath website under “Students” top tab.

Social Justice 12 students would like to encourage McMath to celebrate Black History Month and will be sharing biographies of important African Canadians all February. 

George Elliot Clarke is a Canadian poet, playwright and literary critic that was recognized by many as a great contributor in promoting stories of African-Canadian writers and poets in anthologies and studies in turn created exposure to the African Canadian community. In addition to that, Clarke also won many national and international awards. 

Wildcats!  Get ready to step onto the red carpet because our Night in Hollywood school dance is just around the corner!  Mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 12th from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The dance in open to grades 9, 10, and 11.  Tickets are $5.00 and will be on sale in front of the office at lunch from February 21st to March 6th.

Attention Grade 8-10 Rugby Players, our first practices are this WEEK.  We have practice today, Wednesday February 21 and Thursday February 22 from 3:15 to 4:30 pm.   ALL players must have a mouth guard and cleats.  Dress for the weather.  Any questions, ask Mr. J.
For Senior Boys, we are still looking into have enough players for this season.  Decision this week. 

Congratulations to our McMath Senior Girls Basketball team for coming in 2nd at the South Frasers last week after a very hard-fought game against Clayton Heights. They are now heading to the provincials next week! Go Wildcats!

A huge congratulations to the Grade 8 Girls Basketball team for an awesome season! They came in second place in the Richmond Championships and played well in the South Frasers. Well done team!

Track and Field athletes, there will be a mandatory meeting this Friday at lunch in the north gym. Coaches will be there to talk to you about the upcoming season, practices, meets, commitments, events, and what you need. Important forms will be handed out. 

Hey Wildcats!  Are you looking for a nice warm drink when you enter the school? Do you always find yourself tired in the mornings? Well, Interact has your back! Come down to the front foyer tomorrow during PLT to grab a nice hot beverage to warm you up! Stay toasty Wildcats!

Congratulations to the McMath Chess team who placed first in Richmond during the annual BC Junior Chess Association Tournament. The next step would be to face schools across B.C.
