Social Justice 12 students would like to encourage McMath to celebrate Black History Month and will be sharing biographies of important African Canadians all February. 

Today, we will be discussing Deborah Miller Brown. She was a legendary Canadian black athlete who excelled in the Olympics in 1968. Although she didn’t receive a medal, her track run became the 8th highest in the world. Not only that, today she coached track in universities across Halifax and is an outstanding member of the community. We ask if any of you have any time that you look into her successes and recognize her contributions to Canada. 

Do you love laughing outside with your friends?  Would you like to spend more time in nature, canoeing, rock climbing, and hiking?  Think about joining McMath's Strathcona Park trip this May.  Learn more at our informational meeting at lunch on Wednesday, February 28th in room C212.  See Ms Phillpotts for more information.  This trip is suitable for all grades!

Attention Grade 8-10 Rugby Players, we have practice today, Thursday February 22 from 3:15 to 4:30 pm.   ALL players must have a mouth guard and cleats.  Dress for the weather.  Any questions, ask Mr. J.
For Senior Boys, we are still looking into have enough players for this season.  Decision this week. 

Track and Field athletes, there will be a mandatory meeting this Friday at lunch in the north gym. Coaches will be there to talk to you about the upcoming season and important forms will be handed out. 

Hey Concert Choir, rehearsal today in A111.  Bring your lunch and see you there.  New members from grade 8-12 welcome, so bring your friends and let’s make some music!
