Good evening McMath Parents & Caregivers,

The purpose of this email is to inform you about the ongoing vandalism that has been occurring at McMath. We need everyone’s help in the community to ensure this stops. 

In the last week, we have had over 5 fires on the McMath campus.   Many garbage bins have been burnt in addition to a tree.  The Richmond Fire Department Investigators and the RCMP are working on solving these arsons.  Last night, our custodians stopped some youths late in the evening, however they ran away before the RCMP could apprehend them.  Fortunately, the fire was extinguished quickly by staff - before it could damage the school.

We believe that these youths live nearby, and they could be McMath students.  We need our entire McMath community to report suspicious behaviour and relay ANY information about these youths who are starting these fires.   

The next fire could take down the school or any of the neighbouring the houses!
