Good evening Grade 8 McMath Students and Parents/Caregivers, 

We are excited to announce that Grade 8 day will be held on September 25th! Grade 8 day is an opportunity for Grade 8 students to get to know each other and make new friends. This fun day is organized by our Leadership 11/12 Classes. 

Wednesday, September 25^th is a Collaboration Day at McMath and school starts at 9:30 am. At that time, all Grade 8’s will go directly to their Block A classes. Shortly after, an announcement will be made for all Grade 8s to proceed to the gym. If your teen is late, they must sign in at the office and proceed straight to the gym. Grade 8 students will engage in a variety of fun activities for the remainder of the day.

We recommend students wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring a change of clothes as students will be engaging in a variety of physical activities, with a possibility that they may get wet. Students should dress for the weather as they will be outside for parts of the day.

Lunch (cheese pizza) and snacks will be provided, but we encourage students to bring their own water. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please contact Ms. Naidu via email at anaidu@sd38.bc.ca. We suggest students bring a small bag/backpack as they will not be attending their regular classes. 

Some events will be held outside of the school in the nearby Steveston park, so McMath PRIDE behaviour is expected from all students as we are representing the school. Grade 8 Day will end at 3:00 pm and students will be dismissed for the day at the school.
