Ms. Carter is the School Career Information Advisor located in the R.A. McMath Counselling Centre who offers an abundance of resources and support to students. Ms. Carter is your go-to person for any questions regarding your transition to post-secondary, providing career and educational planning information and advice to support you throughout the entire process. Understanding Grade' Point
Average that is required
Unweighted GPA: Takes into consideration the average of all course work, including electives.
Weighted GPA: Typically takes into consideration only core subject work, removing electives and Physical Education. Grades earned from honors, AP or IB coursework are weighted because the academic rigor is higher in these classes. Typically, a grade out of 100 is given 10 more points, increasing the grade a full letter grade. (ex. 78 becomes an 88; B becomes A)
